Austria

Communication of 2.XII.2010:

A1 Telekom Austria AG , Vienna, announces that its international X.25 and X.75 Public Switched Data Network (PSDN) Services, formally known as “Dataswitch” will be discontinued with effect from 1 January 2011.

As of 1 January 2011, the X.75 gateway service will no longer route transiting traffic and terminating traffic to and from the data network identified with the 232 2 code (DNIC) according to ITU-T Recommendation X.121.

The DNIC 232 2 remains, however, allocated to “Dataswitch”. The DNIC will continue to be used internally.

Administrations, Recognized Operating Agencies (ROAs) and operating agencies are invited to note that, as reported in ITU Operational Bulletin 917, Study Group 2 considers that the use of European Telephony Numbering Space (ETNS) code 388 3, assigned to 24 countries, is not in conformance with the code 388 3 assignment criteria.

TSB has requested that ETNS codes 388 3 be reclaimed as of 31 December 2010. The code 388 3 has been returned to spare on 31 December 2010.

Administrations are requested to notify ITU about their national numbering plan changes, or to give an explanation on their webpage concerning the national numbering plan as well as their contact points, so that the information, which will be made available freely to all administrations/ROAs and service providers, can be posted on the ITU-T website.

For their numbering website, or when sending their information to ITU/TSB (e-mail: tsbtson@itu.int ), administrations are kindly requested to use the format as explained in Recommendation ITU-T E.129. They are reminded that they will be responsible for the timely update of this information.
